Finn Bálor has a legitimate chance to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at Elimination Chamber. Speaking on a Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp noted this title change is a realistic scenario heading into WrestleMania 42.

Sapp detailed how the main event contract creates a unique booking window. “Yeah, I actually think there is. I spoke about this on the Raw post show,” he said regarding Bálor’s title odds.

He continued, “There’s a lot of time left between now and WrestleMania, and I actually think a real wrinkle could be that Roman Reigns made this world championship match, and is locked into it because the contract is signed.”

Sapp believes this angle forces an immediate chase. “CM Punk would need to win the world championship back in time for WrestleMania to make sure it happens. I think there’s an actual possibility.”

This matchup stems from their Belfast bout where Punk won clean and showed respect. That dynamic vanished once Adam Pearce didn’t give Bálor a Royal Rumble spot due to sold-out entries.

Liv Morgan criticized his complacency, prompting Bálor to drop multiple Coup De Graces on Punk during a Raw match. He’s also stopped Judgment Day members from interfering lately to prove his worth.

Bálor will use his classic entrance theme for this fight. Punk remains the heavy favorite heading into Elimination Chamber, which takes place on February 28 in his hometown of Chicago.
