On the May 12, 2025, episode of WWE RAW, an announcement confirmed Gunther will receive a World Heavyweight Championship match. The title opportunity is scheduled for June 9th in Phoenix, Arizona.
“The Ring General” Gunther is slated to compete against whoever emerges victorious from the upcoming championship encounter between current titleholder Jey Uso and Logan Paul.
Reacting to the news on RAW, Uso declared, “Remind me of my place? My place? I’m in my place! This is my place! I run this place! With this on my arm!”
Uso continued, “I’m gonna handle the YouTuber [Logan Paul]! Then me and the Ring General, we gonna run it back! And I’m gonna walk out this match the same way I walked out of WrestleMania!” Uso previously bested Gunther for the championship at WrestleMania 41. Gunther recently defeated Pat McAfee at Backlash.
