Only One Man Deserves to be John Cena’s Final WWE Opponent, and It’s Not Randy Orton

A massive WWE Superstar needs to wrestle John Cena in his very last match. Cena has just announced that he will wrestle his final match in WWE next year.

At Money in the Bank 2024, Cena made a surprise appearance and left the WWE Universe dumbfounded by announcing his upcoming retirement. Cena will be back in the ring in 2025 and make several appearances for WWE through the year. At the Money in the Bank post-show conference, however, Cena revealed that he will wrestle his final match at WrestleMania 41.

Many fans are clamoring for John Cena’s final opponent to be possibly his greatest rival, Randy Orton. But only one man should get the honor of being Cena’s last opponent, and that’s The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.

It would quite possibly be the biggest babyface vs. babyface match in WWE history

Over the years, fans have witnessed a long list of iconic face vs. face encounters. Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 6, Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena at SummerSlam 2013, and Stone Cold vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 17 immediately come to mind.

Cody is the biggest babyface in modern-day WWE. It won’t be a stretch either to call Cena the biggest babyface in the history of wrestling. It would be an epic clash of two of the greatest “good guys” in WWE history.

Cody Rhodes wants a match with John Cena

On the road to WrestleMania 39, Cena and Cody shared a heartfelt moment on WWE RAW with Cena raising the latter’s hand. They also had a conversation on the top of the ramp.

Cody later revealed that he asked Cena to have a match with him. Cena said that he can’t promise that, but it’s clear as day that Cody would love to wrestle Cena in one of the biggest dream matches in WWE’s storied history.
