As the WWE Royal Rumble 2024 approaches, speculation is mounting over the potential winners, with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes being primary contenders. Vince Russo, a former WWE head writer, has suggested an intriguing possibility that history might repeat itself with a dual victory.
In the past, the Royal Rumble has seen unique outcomes, such as in 1994 when Lex Luger and Bret Hart were declared co-winners, and in 2005 when Batista and John Cena initially finished simultaneously, leading to a match restart. Russo, speaking on Sportskeeda's “Writing with Russo,” proposed a similar scenario for the upcoming event. He suggested, “Cody and Punk hit the floor at the same time. They are co-winners. Cody gets Reigns, CM Punk gets Rollins. That sounds real simple to me.”
Russo also commented on CM Punk's current storyline in WWE, comparing it to the narrative previously surrounding Jey Uso. He noted the similarities in their story angles.
