WWE Has Already Decided What the Main Event of Clash at the Castle Will Be in Scotland

WWE has confirmed that Drew McIntyre will face Damian Priest at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024, which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland. This fight will be a dispute for the World Heavyweight Championship, in which Priest will defend the belt against McIntyre.

McIntyre had a brief reign as World Heavyweight Champion during WrestleMania 40 in April before losing the title to Priest, who used his Money in the Bank contract after an attack by CM Punk. Since then, the rivalry between McIntyre and Priest has intensified, with exchanges of provocations and public disagreements.

According to Dave Meltzer, from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match between McIntyre and Priest will be one of the main highlights of WWE Clash at the Castle, which will take place on June 15 at the OVO Hydro, in Glasgow. Meltzer commented on the expectation for the fight: “The world title fight with Damian Priest defending against Drew McIntyre should take place at Clash at the Castle on 6/15 in Glasgow, Scotland.”

The choice of Glasgow as the location for the fight is significant, as McIntyre will have the support of the local fans, which could influence the dynamics of the confrontation. Although Priest has been positioned as a babyface in recent shows, McIntyre is expected to take on that role in his homeland.

Additionally, WWE Clash at the Castle has been controversial due to high ticket prices. Reports in the mainstream media indicate a negative reaction, with the cheapest tickets costing £300.

Recently, Damian Priest renewed his contract with WWE, a process described as “tense until the last moment”. Drew McIntyre also signed a new three-year contract, described as a “million dollar” deal.
