WWE’s Current Top Contender for Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble
WWE’s upcoming Royal Rumble event, scheduled for January 27th at Tropicana Field, is shaping up with high-profile matches.
Among the most anticipated is the potential showdown between Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. Orton, who recently returned to WWE and signed an exclusive deal with SmackDown, has expressed a desire for retribution against the Bloodline, a faction he blames for his 18-month absence from action.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio revealed insights into the possible lineup for the Royal Rumble. According to Meltzer, “Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns is an option for the Royal Rumble.
As of right now, it is WWE’s strongest option, because other top names seem to be busy with other programs at the moment.” He further elaborated, “I know that it was under consideration. I also know that there were other ideas, too. I thought from I watched RAW on Monday that it was gonna be Roman vs Randy at the pay-per-view. There are ideas, but it’s possible that there were other ideas, too, so we’ll see how it plays out. This is the strongest, by far.”
