WWE’s Plans for Roman Reigns vs. The Rock

The world is closely following Roman Reigns’ return to WWE. Although the “Original Tribal Chief” has yet to gain the upper hand over his former stable, there are still many stories to unfold. The Rock could be part of that narrative, but it could take some time to develop.

Rock has already announced his return to WWE for WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. Although his storyline for this event has not yet begun, all indications point to Cody Rhodes being his opponent. This would be an important fight, but Rock vs. Reigns is still on the horizon.

LEIA MAIS:

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that Rock and Reigns will likely face off at WrestleMania 42. While this is not confirmed, Meltzer shared that this is his gut feeling.

“My gut feeling was Roman vs. Rock for WrestleMania 2026. It could still be what they do. Solo was there, and Jacob was there to pass the time to get there. Again, when you’re talking about things so far away, there are a million things that could happen.”

A lot can change in two years, especially in Pro Wrestling. Reigns vs. Rock was the match they initially wanted for WrestleMania 40, but that didn’t come to fruition. The story of how they changed that “angle” was later turned into a full-length documentary.

We’ll have to see who Rock faces in the future, but he doesn’t return to WWE often. His schedule is packed with his tequila and football ventures, not to mention his ongoing acting career. Only time will tell how WWE will handle Rock’s return.
