Jey Uso has identified Sami Zayn as the key figure who elevated The Bloodline faction during its dominant run in WWE, rather than Roman Reigns who led the group.
During his appearance on SHAK Wrestling, Jey reflected on the impact Zayn had while serving as the “Honorary Uce” in the Samoan faction.
We wouldn’t be Bloodline without Sami Zayn. He brought some of the best segments out. You know how he made us laugh on TV. All of that was real. Live TV. I’m trying to cover up my face because I can’t stop laughing. It’s like, ‘We’re going live in 3, 2, 1,’ and I’m like, ‘Please don’t make me laugh, Uce. Please don’t make me laugh.’
Jey explained that before Zayn joined in 2022, the faction primarily dealt with serious storylines. The former Intercontinental Champion’s charm and wit added depth to each member’s character.

This statement comes from a significant perspective as Jey was part of The Bloodline during Roman Reigns’ historic 1,316-day Undisputed WWE Championship reign between 2020 and 2024.
The group originally consisted of Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and later expanded to include Solo Sikoa alongside Zayn during his tenure as “Honorary Uce.”
Sami’s run with the faction concluded dramatically at Royal Rumble 2023 when he turned on Reigns, striking The Tribal Chief with a steel chair after a change of heart.
Jey is currently preparing for his World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther at WrestleMania 41, scheduled for April 19-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The Royal Rumble winner continues building momentum following his victory in last month’s men’s match, setting up this significant championship opportunity on WWE’s grandest stage.
