WBD Executive Responds To AEW Collision Being Cut Off

The May 17th broadcast of AEW Collision on TNT concluded unexpectedly at 9:30 PM, thirty minutes short of its scheduled end time, leading to the non-airing of the advertised Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship match featuring Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara against The CRU. Instead of the wrestling program’s remainder, the network presented the film Black Adam.

Following the incident, Rich Guleksen, the Associate Director of Live Events for Warner Bros. Discovery, provided an explanation via his Bluesky account. Guleksen stated, “Just heard about this. Very sorry this happened.” He further elaborated, “It actually was a severe technical problem with show delivery [and] recording. The team is working to get this put back together for MAX replay & TNT VOD ASAP.”

Earlier, AEW President Tony Khan had also commented on the situation, attributing the premature cut-off to “technical problems with our studio transmission.” Khan assured viewers that arrangements were being made for the complete episode of AEW Collision: Beach Break to be accessible on the TNT West feed and through Stream On Max.

Reports from various outlets, including Ringside News and eWrestlingNews, corroborated these details throughout May 17th and May 18th.
