AEW Planning Major Tag Team Match Involving The Young Bucks For All In Texas

The main event picture for AEW All In has reportedly been established, with a high-profile tag team match emerging as the current direction for the landmark event. Following the climactic conclusion of this week’s AEW Dynamite, the planned contest is said to feature The Young Bucks taking on the newly-formed duo of Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay.

The foundation for this clash was laid during the AEW Summer Blockbuster special on June 11, which saw Strickland and Ospreay compete in a grueling opening match that ended in a 30-minute time-limit draw. The intense bout saw Ospreay suffer a suspected broken nose within the first minute, though he persevered through the entire contest.

After the draw, a frustrated Strickland demanded the match continue, but he was ambushed by Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. The Young Bucks handcuffed Strickland to the ropes and prepared to assault him with shoes laden with thumbtacks. Despite his own significant injury, Ospreay heroically intervened, absorbing a stereo superkick from the loaded footwear to protect Strickland.

According to reports from Fightful Select, this dramatic angle was designed to solidify the tag team encounter for All In. Sources familiar with the situation indicated that a match involving The Young Bucks and Swerve Strickland had been under consideration for some time.

However, Ospreay’s role in the match was only locked in following the AEW Double or Nothing event. This was reportedly due to the creative plans for his program with Hangman Page being kept private. As of now, there has been no official word on whether any championship stakes will be attached to the anticipated match.
