A new path has been forged for Jey Uso following the loss of his World Heavyweight Championship. On Friday, WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced via social media that Uso will be the final participant in a King of the Ring first-round fatal four-way match. He is now set to face Sheamus, Rusev, and Bronson Reed on the next episode of WWE RAW.
This new opportunity for Jey Uso comes just days after his 51-day reign as World Heavyweight Champion was brought to an end during the main event of the June 9th edition of WWE RAW. In a rematch from WrestleMania 41, Gunther defeated Uso by submission after Jey passed out in a Sleeper hold, the very move Uso had used to win the title. The emotional scene following the match was amplified by the sight of Jey Uso’s visibly upset son at ringside as Gunther celebrated his victory.
Subsequent reports have indicated that the title change was a strategic decision to facilitate a major championship encounter. The plan is for Gunther to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Goldberg at the Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, which is slated to be Goldberg’s retirement match.

Despite the championship loss, it appears WWE has significant plans for Jey Uso’s future, including a potential reunion with his brother, Jimmy Uso, to revitalize their tag team run.
The winner of the upcoming fatal four-way match featuring Jey Uso will advance to the tournament semifinals to face Sami Zayn. Zayn secured his spot by winning a four-way match of his own on WWE RAW against Penta, Dominik Mysterio, and Bron Breakker.
The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments are also set to continue on the June 13th edition of WWE SmackDown with a full slate of first-round matches. In the King of the Ring bracket, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Aleister Black, and Carmelo Hayes will compete in a fatal four-way, while another match will see Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, Andrade, and Shinsuke Nakamura vie for a spot in the semifinals.
For the Queen of the Ring tournament on SmackDown, Jade Cargill, Michin, Nia Jax, and Piper Niven will face off in one fatal four-way match. The other first-round contest will feature Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green, and Candice LeRae.
The victors of both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will earn championship matches for their respective brand’s top title at the Night of Champions premium live event on June 28th.
