Legal proceedings involving Vince McMahon and a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, which includes allegations of sex-trafficking, continue to develop. McMahon has consistently denied the allegations.
On Friday, June 13, McMahon’s legal team refiled a motion to compel arbitration. This procedural step, which was anticipated, seeks to move the case into private arbitration, a move that would prevent a court-based discovery phase and depositions. The refiling occurred on the deadline day set after a judge approved Grant’s amended lawsuit last month.
A significant development in the case involves former co-defendant John Laurinaitis. According to reports, Laurinaitis was dropped from the lawsuit after reaching an agreement with Grant’s legal team to provide evidence against McMahon. The situation has reportedly caused frustration for McMahon.

Amid the legal challenges, a report from Chris Featherstone of Wrestling Outlaws, citing a private message from an individual close to the situation, indicates McMahon still has influential backing.
“There’s a lot more, but at the same time it says Vince has a lot of powerful people on his side,” the source stated to Featherstone.
This notion of continued influence exists alongside speculation about McMahon’s future intentions regarding WWE. While TKO representatives have previously denied rumors that McMahon might attempt to reacquire the company, former WWE creative writer Vince Russo shared his thoughts on the matter. Speaking on The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, Russo speculated that if a buyback were to happen, McMahon would reinstall his son, Shane McMahon, in a position of power.
