Heading into the Undisputed WWE Championship match at Night of Champions, the incumbent, John Cena, is the betting favorite to retain his title against challenger CM Punk. According to odds from MyBookie, Cena is expected to emerge victorious from their encounter next weekend in Saudi Arabia.
The championship contest marks a significant moment for Punk, as it will be his first time competing in the country. A victory would have represented his first world title win in more than a decade. The match itself was officially announced on a recent episode of WWE RAW.
Cena’s current championship reign began when he defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania in April. Since then, he has engaged in a storyline mission to “ruin wrestling” and has successfully defended the title against both R-Truth and Randy Orton. Before his defense against Punk, Cena is also scheduled to face R-Truth once more with the title on the line.

This upcoming bout adds another chapter to the extensive history between Cena and Punk. Their past rivalry famously culminated in Punk winning the World Championship during a period known as the “Summer of Punk.” The current circumstances are different, with Cena holding the top spot despite his planned retirement in less than six months.
For Punk, who returned to WWE nearly two years ago, the match is a return to the main event picture, though the current odds suggest his pursuit of the championship may come up short against Cena.
