Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE competition since his triple threat match against CM Punk and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41 in April. Wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently suggested a fresh role for The Tribal Chief upon his return—managing rising Bloodline star Jacob Fatu.
During an episode of Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter discussed Fatu’s future with co-hosts Dutch Mantell, Mac Davis, and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long. He pitched the idea of Reigns aligning with the United States Champion as an on-screen advocate and occasional partner.
The one person who could make a mark as a spokesman for him, since it’s no longer Solo [Sikoa], is The OTC. What if they bring Roman Reigns back to ally himself with Jacob Fatu, and he does most of the talking in the ring? He becomes almost like an advisor, manager, tag team partner with Jacob Fatu.
Fatu emerged as a breakout force in The Bloodline last year, clashing with Reigns in three tag matches before their Royal Rumble encounter in January. Reigns has been on hiatus since WrestleMania, with his return timeline still unconfirmed.

The suggestion comes amid reports of WWE’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, potentially renegotiating Reigns’ contract due to his part-time schedule. Despite his absence, Reigns remains a pivotal figure in WWE’s long-term storytelling.
Apter’s proposal would reintroduce Reigns in a mentorship role while keeping Fatu—a dominant singles competitor—at the forefront of The Bloodline’s new era.
