Matt Cardona is capitalizing on a major name-drop from one of wrestling’s biggest stars. The independent circuit standout has released a new t-shirt through his Pro Wrestling Tees store, directly referencing the recent attention he received on WWE programming.

The merchandise launch follows a headline-making promo segment on the June 20 edition of WWE SmackDown. During a heated exchange with CM Punk, John Cena unexpectedly mentioned Cardona, along with Claudio Castagnoli and Nic Nemeth, citing them as examples of hardworking talent.

Cardona immediately responded to the high-profile mention. On Friday, he posted a throwback photo on X of himself with Cena during their time together in WWE, captioning it simply, “Hey @JohnCena.”

He continued the narrative during the GCW ‘Take a Picture’ event on Sunday. In a clear nod to the SmackDown promo, Cardona sat on the ring ropes and addressed the camera, stating, “Hey, John Cena,” mimicking the style of Cena’s own delivery.
