WWE has confirmed that Liv Morgan will be sidelined for several months due to a shoulder injury that will require surgery. The announcement was made during this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, officially removing one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions from active competition for the foreseeable future.
The injury occurred on the June 16th edition of WWE RAW during a match against Kairi Sane. According to WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, Morgan landed incorrectly during a takedown, placing excessive pressure on her rotator cuff. This resulted in the severe injury that now necessitates a lengthy recovery period, projected to be at least three to four months.
Morgan’s absence has forced a significant overhaul of WWE’s creative plans. Her injury disrupts a planned tag team match at the upcoming Evolution 2025 event on July 13 and has also impacted a rumored return for The Bella Twins. Consequently, Morgan is now expected to miss the two-night SummerSlam event scheduled for August 2-3. Despite the long-term nature of her recovery, WWE reportedly has no immediate plans to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Championships she holds with Raquel Rodriguez.
