The first-ever WWE and AAA co-promoted Worlds Collide event began with a significant display of unity, as WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and AAA President Marisela Pena shared the ring.
The opening ceremony featured Deyra Berrera performing the Mexican national anthem, followed by Lilian Garcia singing the United States national anthem. The leadership from both promotions stood in the center of the ring for the duration of the anthems but departed without any verbal address immediately after.
Following their exit, Rey Mysterio made his way to the ring to officially start the show with a promo delivered in Spanish.
