Alexa Bliss announced the passing of her cousin Vanessa on social media. Vanessa had been battling cancer prior to her death.
In a post on X/Twitter, Bliss described Vanessa as a resilient and positive individual.
The strongest fighter & most positive girl I know. my cousin Vanessa. I’ll miss you & I love you. Until we meet again.
Bliss recently returned to WWE television at the 2025 Royal Rumble after an extended maternity leave. Since then, she has competed in high-profile matches, including the Women’s Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank bouts. Most recently, she advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament by winning a Fatal Four-Way match.
Her WWE return was initially tied to the Wyatt Sicks faction, but creative plans were delayed due to Bo Dallas’ injury. Bliss has been absent from programming since March 2025 but is expected to return soon.
Outside of wrestling, Bliss has pursued voice acting, including roles in Netflix’s Queen of Villains and Sakamoto Days.
The wrestling community has extended condolences to Bliss during this difficult time.
