The internal dynamics of the Legado Del Fantasma faction grew more strained on the May 16 episode of WWE SmackDown, as leader Santos Escobar revealed he has a significant announcement poised to alter the group’s future. However, Escobar conditioned the reveal on the presence of Berto, who was notably absent, instructing Angel to locate his cousin.
This development follows Berto’s actions on the previous week’s WWE SmackDown (May 9), where increasing frustration with Escobar led to Berto walking out on the Legado Del Fantasma leader, an act Angel witnessed. Escobar’s growing dissatisfaction with both Angel and Berto, collectively known as Los Garza, has been apparent.
The search for Berto spilled onto social media after the May 16th broadcast. Angel initiated contact by tweeting, “Hey!!! @humberto_wwe !!!”. Berto did not directly reply to this but posted two separate messages on his own Twitter account. His first was, “GM ☀️ what did i miss?”. A few hours later, he addressed Angel with another tweet, stating, “Hey @AngelGarzaWwe I heard you were looking for me.. you know where to find me primo…”, which was accompanied by a photograph.
