Braun Strowman is exploring opportunities outside of professional wrestling following his recent WWE release. The former Universal Champion recently participated in a charity golf tournament, signaling a potential shift in his career focus.
Strowman partnered with former United States President George W. Bush at the 2025 Bush Family Classic charity golf tournament, an event dedicated to supporting Gary’s House, which provides lodging for individuals undergoing medical treatment. This marked Strowman’s first time playing golf in two decades.
Strowman expressed his enthusiasm for the sport on social media.

He also confirmed his renewed interest in golf in response to a fan query.
This got me interested again. Gonna go have some clubs made cause my back’s killing me from swinging short clubs all day, lol.
Strowman’s WWE contract was not renewed on May 2, 2025, as part of a round of roster adjustments affecting both main roster and NXT talent. This marks his second departure from WWE, following a prior release in June 2021 before his return in September 2022. Reports indicate that the decision was influenced by a lack of creative direction for his character and his substantial annual salary. He is currently under a 90-day non-compete clause, which will expire later this summer.
