Chris Jericho took to social media today to reference his WWE career, fueling speculation about his future.

While on Fozzy’s 2026 tour stop in Southampton, England, Jericho shared an Instagram photo of himself from his time with the Stamford-based promotion back in 2000.

In the caption, Jericho wrote:

“My 2000 self showed up to hang out with us on the bus tonight…”

The image carries symbolic meaning for Y2J, as it dates to roughly one year after his WWE debut. The post comes at a time of uncertainty for the veteran star, who is reportedly still under contract with AEW, according to Fightful, but has been off television since April of last year.

His deal was originally expected to expire earlier this year, but due to past injuries, it appears the contract was paused and extended.

Tony Khan has repeatedly stated in interviews that he hopes Jericho will return to the company, emphasizing that he remains a highly valuable asset.
