
Cody Rhodes has moved forward in the 2025 King of the Ring tournament, securing a victory in the main event of the June 13 episode of WWE SmackDown. The win came in a fatal four-way match against Andrade, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Damian Priest.
The winner of the tournament is scheduled to receive a world championship match at the upcoming SummerSlam event.
The match contained several notable moments, including Andrade executing a moonsault. At one point, a table was introduced at ringside, and Nakamura ultimately sent Rhodes through it, leading into a commercial break.

Later in the contest, Nakamura hit a Kinshasa on Rhodes for a near fall. Andrade also came close to winning after delivering The Message to Priest, but Nakamura intervened to break up the pinfall attempt.
The conclusion of the match saw Rhodes deliver a top-rope Cody Cutter to Priest, followed by a Crossroads to Andrade. After countering an attack from Nakamura, Rhodes hit him with a Crossroads as well to secure the pinfall victory.
With this win, Rhodes advances in the tournament. The finals are set to take place at the Night of Champions premium live event on June 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Earlier in the evening, Randy Orton also advanced in a separate tournament match.
