The emotional connection between Cody Rhodes and his entrance theme runs deeper than most fans realize. The current WWE Undisputed Champion recently opened up about a touching modification he hopes to make to the iconic “Kingdom” theme that has become synonymous with his rise to the top of the wrestling world.
During a candid conversation with Stephanie McMahon for her “Stephanie’s Places” series, Rhodes revealed that the famous intro declaring “wrestling has more than one royal family” was actually recorded shortly after his initial WWE departure.
I recorded that weeks after I left WWE the first time, and to this day we still use that audio sample.
What makes this revelation particularly interesting is his vision for the future – a family-centered update that would create a lasting legacy within the entrance.

The champion went on to share his heartfelt desire to eventually have his daughter voice the iconic introduction.
My goal actually is – I don’t know if she’d wanna do this – but the beginning of my song, the little voice over that exists, I’d love my daughter to do it at one point. Just because I want her to have a good experience in this.
The Downstait-performed “Kingdom” has been Rhodes’ signature entrance music since 2016, but its popularity exploded following his triumphant WWE return in 2022. While no timeline was given for when this potential change might occur, it’s clear that Rhodes sees his theme as more than just background music – it’s becoming a family tradition that could create a beautiful full-circle moment in his wrestling journey.
