Cody Rhodes made his unannounced return to WWE during the Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast on May 24 from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, marking his first WWE appearance since WrestleMania 41. Rhodes emerged amidst the WWE World Heavyweight Championship contest between Jey Uso and Logan Paul, specifically targeting John Cena who had interfered.
The championship match saw John Cena pull the referee from the ring and then assault Jey Uso. As Logan Paul observed, Cody Rhodes appeared, neutralizing Cena with a Cross Rhodes and ejecting him from the ring. This allowed Jey Uso to recover and defeat Paul with a spear followed by a frog splash, thereby retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Following the title retention, Cody Rhodes addressed John Cena and Logan Paul via microphone. He declared that he and Jey Uso would face them in a tag team match at the upcoming Money in the Bank event.
