Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins have demonstrated they are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure WWE’s programming proceeds, including taking on production responsibilities themselves.

During a recent episode of his What Do You Want To Talk About podcast with guest Damian Priest, Rhodes recounted a situation where travel complications forced him and Rollins into unexpected roles. A snowstorm in Nebraska created a logistical nightmare, leaving a WWE event in El Paso without producers.

“We had a situation where we needed to get to Omaha or get out of Omaha, and I thought I would be a big baller and save the day,” Rhodes stated. “There were no commercial flights going. I got the crew a jet and we were heading to El Paso. That was the trouble. We needed to get to El Paso from Nebraska in the middle of a snowstorm, and the only way we could do it was flying private. Ultimately, WWE stepped in and covered it for me.”

Rhodes explained his decision-making process, prioritizing the in-ring talent to ensure the event could take place for the ticket-buying audience. “The best is I didn’t put the producers on the flight. I put the boys on the flight. We have to do the show. Love (the producers), but we had to do the show,” he said.

This impromptu leadership role required significant hands-on effort from both men. “We had a show to do. No producers. Me and Seth, we were producers and it was a show that had a commission, so we actually had to do work. It wasn’t, ‘Hey, you’re good, we know your match. Hey, 12 minutes.’ None of that,” Rhodes detailed.

This behind-the-scenes initiative from Rhodes aligns with his current prominent on-screen role. Following a significant tag team victory at Money in the Bank where he pinned John Cena, Rhodes is now a competitor in the 2025 King of the Ring tournament, with the winner set to receive a title opportunity at SummerSlam.

Rhodes also offered high praise for his partner in the impromptu production, seeing a clear future for him in a similar capacity. “Seth is doing it and doing an incredible job. Obviously, that’s in his future. I’m sure the world can figure that out.”

Rollins’ leadership, as described by Rhodes, is mirrored in his own current storyline developments. Having recently won the Money in the Bank briefcase for a second time, Rollins now leads a formidable, unnamed faction alongside Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. Reports indicate WWE is setting up a feud between Rollins and LA Knight, which was initiated when Knight attacked Breakker during the King of the Ring tournament, disrupting Rollins’ plans for his stablemate.
