Current Champion Demands John Cena Leave WWE Immediately

Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day stated he wants John Cena gone from WWE, despite recent praise from Cena, during an interview on Complex.

Dominik Mysterio recently articulated a clear stance regarding John Cena’s future in WWE, expressing a desire for Cena’s departure from the company. During an appearance on Complex, the Intercontinental Champion voiced this sentiment directly.

This declaration arrived even after John Cena had offered positive commentary about Mysterio’s abilities. Cena, speaking on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this year, commended Mysterio’s in-ring skills and presence, particularly following Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship victory at WrestleMania 41.

Despite these commendations, Mysterio was resolute in his interview. When discussing Cena, he stated, “I don’t know. I kind of just want to see him gone. He said nice things about me, but at the end of the day, he’s got to go.”

John Cena’s current tenure in WWE is marked by a significant character shift. At Elimination Chamber 2025, on March 1, 2025, Cena executed a heel turn, a first in his main roster WWE career, by aligning with The Rock and attacking Cody Rhodes. This transformation earned Cena a Guinness World Record for the “longest WWE face run before turning heel.”

His heel persona has persisted, continuing through WrestleMania 41 where he challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Cena is currently aligned with Logan Paul and is portrayed as a primary antagonist, with storylines emphasizing his intent to “ruin wrestling.” There have been no indications of Cena reverting to a babyface character, and he is scheduled for a tag team match at Money in the Bank, partnering with Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, cementing his ongoing villainous role.
