On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Balor assisted Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh. This intervention occurred when AJ Styles defeated McDonagh and then returned the Intercontinental Championship, which he had taken from Mysterio, to Nick Aldis backstage.
Aldis subsequently announced that Styles would receive a title shot against Mysterio at Night of Champions 2025. This development has initiated speculation regarding Bálor potentially betraying Mysterio to facilitate Styles’ acquisition of the Intercontinental Championship.
Styles and Bálor previously held membership in the Bullet Club during their time in NJPW. Styles also referred to Balor as “Prince” during a recent confrontation with Mysterio, referencing Balor’s ‘Prince Devitt’ ring name in Japan.
