Drew McIntyre has revealed the reasons behind his angry exit from Lucas Oil Stadium after his elimination from the Men’s Royal Rumble Match on February 1, 2025. McIntyre entered the 30-man contest at number 17 before Damian Priest eliminated him.
Reports indicated that McIntyre was screaming and cursing backstage following his elimination. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion confirmed his displeasure in an interview with “Gorilla Position.” “I will tell you that I was not happy,” McIntyre stated, adding that he “invented a few swear words, and then I left the building.”
McIntyre clarified that his departure was a deliberate act of professionalism. “I left the building because I’m a professional,” he explained. He elaborated that he chose to remove himself from the situation due to his volatile temper. “I’d rather take myself out of the situation because I know how bad my temper is, and sometimes, when you calm down, things are not as they seem,” he commented. He concluded that walking away was “the adult thing to do.” This interview segment aired between the 08:52 and 09:50 marks.
