The Rock’s recent proposition to Cody Rhodes has created a new dynamic heading into WWE WrestleMania 41. Former WWE writer Vince Russo believes Drew McIntyre would be a more suitable candidate to align with The Final Boss.
During a recent SmackDown, The Rock invited Cody Rhodes to the ring for a significant conversation. While acknowledging Rhodes as a proven World Champion, the TKO board member suggested Rhodes “sell his soul,” potentially indicating a corporate champion role.
Rhodes will deliver his response to The Rock at Elimination Chamber, but Russo shared a different perspective on The Coach & Bro Show. The former WWE writer pointed to McIntyre as the logical choice for this storyline opportunity.
The logical thing to do and the only thing to do to make sense is the one guy that would be at the head of that list to sell out and the one guy that they have totally freaking wasted and this would get him in the position he needs to be in is Drew McIntyre! That’s the only guy that makes sense in all of this.
Russo’s recommendation stems from his assessment that WWE has underutilized McIntyre. This alignment with The Rock would potentially elevate the 39-year-old star to a more prominent position within the company’s hierarchy.
The ongoing narrative involves multiple key players heading into WrestleMania 41, with Rhodes currently holding the Undisputed WWE Championship and now facing The Rock’s proposition that could significantly alter the championship landscape.
