Big E has been out of action since March 2022 due to a neck injury sustained during a match on SmackDown. The 38-year-old made his last appearance on December 2, 2024, during the 10th-anniversary celebration of The New Day on RAW, where Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on him.
During a recent appearance on Chairshot Sports, former Women’s Champion Layla discussed possible surprise entrants for the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. She mentioned the possibility of Big E’s return.
I also think Big E because he’s kind of eager. And, you know, with Kofi and Xavier, it could be a good mix too.
Big E has not been cleared to compete since his injury, although his appearance in December and the subsequent events involving his former New Day teammates have sparked speculation about a potential return.
