Sheamus voiced his deep disappointment regarding his absence from WrestleMania 41. In an interview with Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, he shared his feelings, stating, “I was gutted that I wasn’t at Mania.” He emphasized his dedication, saying, “I’m more passionate now about my job than I ever have been.”

Despite others suggesting his numerous past WrestleMania appearances made it acceptable, Sheamus disagreed: “But it’s not okay. I love what I do.” He added, “I don’t want to miss anything and I don’t want to miss a WrestleMania. It was tough. I’m not going to lie, it was really really hard.”

The wrestler recently reappeared on the May 5th episode of WWE RAW. His last significant televised appearance prior to this was in the men’s Royal Rumble match earlier in the year. Sheamus revealed his efforts to pursue a specific championship.

“I had pitched to hopefully get in the Intercontinental title stuff again,” Sheamus told Daily Mail. He explained its importance: “that’s the one title that I have left to become the first ever ultimate Grand Slam Champion in WWE. That’s the Holy Grail, that’s it.” At WrestleMania 41, Dominik Mysterio won this title in a four-way match involving Bron Breakker, Penta, and Finn Balor.
