WWE official Adam Pearce revealed on the May 12th edition of Raw that Akira Tozawa is not medically cleared for in-ring competition. This announcement came after Tozawa sought a match against Rusev.
Pearce denied Tozawa’s request for the Rusev bout due to his current medical status. The need for clearance stems from an assault Tozawa suffered at the hands of Rusev on the May 5th episode of Raw.
On that prior edition of Raw, Rusev made his return, first defeating Otis in a singles contest. After the match, Rusev attacked Tozawa when Tozawa attempted to involve himself.
