Former WWE Writer Criticizes Recent Treatment of Some Champions

Vince Russo has voiced concerns on "Legion of RAW" about WWE's booking, stating former champions like The War Raiders often fail to maintain elevated status.

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently criticized WWE’s creative direction concerning its former champions. Speaking on his “Legion of RAW” podcast, Russo argued that many talents do not benefit long-term from holding titles.

Russo stated, “And every time you put a title on somebody, that person or team should be elevated. The War Raiders are not elevated whatsoever. They are in the same exact spot [as] before they won the titles. That’s bad booking, guys.”

He cited The War Raiders in WWE and the Motor City Machine Guns in another promotion as examples of teams who, in his view, regressed after their championship reigns ended. This followed The War Raiders’ recent loss on WWE RAW.

Russo questioned if this pattern was intentional, remarking, “If that’s the case, you’ve totally wasted your time, however long it was.” On the May 12th WWE RAW, The War Raiders were defeated by The Creed Brothers after a distraction by The New Day.
