Two recently released WWE NXT talents have publicly addressed claims that their departures stemmed from a perceived lack of effort during training. Over the weekend, WWE cut 17 talents, most from NXT, sparking speculation about the reasons behind the decision.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that a company source indicated several NXT releases occurred because those individuals were seen as not putting in enough work during training.
Many of those cut were perceived as not working hard in training. And if you don’t work hard in training, there’s so many people who do. At this point, if the feeling is you’re not working hard in training – I saw the term ‘lazy’ – the ones who are lazy are gonna be gone.
Gigi Dolin, one of the released stars, strongly disputed the claim. She emphasized her rigorous training schedule, which included 3-4 weekly sessions with a demanding coach, daily workouts, and frequent live events.

When I wasn’t traveling to work for either of the two companies I was working for, I trained very hard. Bumping my ass off and doing cardio drills… The way my body feels says otherwise.
Cora Jade also rejected the accusation, pointing to additional gym work she undertook outside WWE’s strength and conditioning program. She criticized the environment, stating it led to body-shaming from management, coworkers, and fans.
This, plus can’t forget having to go to my own gym outside of work after ‘strength and conditioning’ that wasn’t doing anything for me other than get me body shamed.
The releases mark another wave of talent departures from WWE, with Dolin and Jade joining others seeking new opportunities outside the company.
