Goldberg Reveals Major Details About His Current Relationship with The Rock

Goldberg recently provided insight into his personal and professional relationship with fellow WWE icon, The Rock.

During a recent appearance on The National Football Show, Goldberg discussed his current relationship with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, revealing the two have not been in contact for a significant period. Despite the lack of communication, the WWE Hall of Famer expressed his high regard for Johnson, which stems from a personal gesture made before the two had ever formally met.

Goldberg recounted a specific instance that cemented his admiration for Johnson.

We are cool, man. I haven’t spoken to him [The Rock] in years. I love him to death. There’s the story of him reaching out and asking if I wanted him to check on my mom during one of the hurricanes, before we had even met in person.

This act of consideration has had a lasting impact. Goldberg also noted Johnson’s professional achievements as a standard for others in the industry to aspire to.

So, for that gesture, I will always be a Rock fan, and not to mention the fact that he’s extremely talented and extremely successful in everything he has done. He sets the bar higher for guys like me, the people that would follow in his footsteps.

The two competitors have a limited but notable history in the ring, having faced each other only once. Their encounter occurred at the Backlash event in 2003.

The match was the culmination of a rivalry that began upon Goldberg’s debut in WWE earlier that year. The storyline centered on Johnson’s “Hollywood” persona, which included segments where he would mock Goldberg. In their pay-per-view contest, Goldberg secured the victory after executing two spears and a Jackhammer.
