According to Meltzer’s report dated February 26, WWE hasn’t formally discussed moving Matt and Jeff Hardy to RAW or SmackDown.
Regarding rumors of the Hardys on the main roster, we were told on 2/26: ‘From fact, it has not yet been discussed. Will someone pitch, ‘Hey, why not use the Hardys in this situation?’ That is a possibility. But as of a few hours ago, the answer is no.’
This reporting contradicts earlier speculation that suggested WWE was already developing a main roster storyline for the Hardy Boyz targeted for spring or summer. Those rumors gained traction when WWE released new Hardy Boyz merchandise ahead of their NXT appearance, which many interpreted as preparation for a larger role within the company.
Their NXT return match against the No Quarter Catch Crew generated substantial excitement among fans, creating natural expectations for a final main roster run for the iconic duo. However, Meltzer’s sources indicate no concrete plans exist at this time.
The situation remains fluid as the ongoing NXT-TNA crossover provides multiple opportunities for the Hardys to remain visible in WWE programming without necessarily transitioning to RAW or SmackDown. The creative direction for Matt and Jeff Hardy ultimately rests with Triple H and the WWE creative team, who may still develop plans for them beyond their current NXT involvement.
