I don’t know if it’s nonsensical. So he’s got to prove it. If he can prove it, maybe he has grounds. But people are always trying to drag CM Punk into a troublesome light from his days in AEW. If Nemeth is doing this, somebody else is going to wind up doing it too.
The lawsuit filed by Nemeth contains several serious allegations including assault, breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and intentional interference with prospective advantage. He also claims the promotion altered plans to use him after he spoke out about these issues.
This legal action comes after Nemeth’s departure from AEW and has received mixed reactions from various figures in the wrestling industry. The case represents another chapter in CM Punk’s controversial history following his time with AEW, which ended with his return to WWE in late 2023.
Neither CM Punk nor Tony Khan have publicly addressed the specifics of the lawsuit at this time.
