Speculation regarding The Miz’s future with WWE has intensified among wrestling fans, prompted by his recent social media activities. This conjecture arises in the wake of significant WWE departures at the start of June, notably those of R-Truth and Carlito. However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has directly addressed these rumors concerning the former two-time WWE Champion.

The fan-driven theories about The Miz potentially leaving WWE gained traction after he unfollowed the official WWE account on X (formerly Twitter) and removed mentions of the company from his profile bio. Responding to these observations and the ensuing discussions, Sean Ross Sapp commented succinctly on X, stating it was: “A nothing story.”

The heightened sensitivity among fans follows R-Truth’s announcement on June 1, 2025, that his WWE contract was not renewed. R-Truth, 53 years old and a long-tenured performer, had not secured a televised win on WWE RAW or SmackDown in 2025, yet his departure reportedly caused upset among fans and colleagues who valued him as a locker room leader. Shortly thereafter, Carlito also confirmed his WWE contract would expire in mid-June, concluding a two-year return that saw him mostly in a supporting role.

Regarding The Miz’s contractual situation, it was reported in 2019 that he had signed an extension with WWE, securing him with the promotion until at least 2025. There has been no official confirmation on the precise expiration date of that agreement or if any subsequent extensions have been signed.

Despite the speculation stirred by his social media adjustments, The Miz himself recently paid a heartfelt tribute to his former Awesome Truth tag team partner, R-Truth, with whom he held World Tag Team Championship gold for a significant portion of 2024. On June 1, 2025, The Miz posted:

“Forming Awesome Truth with you was one of the best runs of my career. No one made me laugh harder. Your energy, heart, and smile lit up every room…and every arena. You’re not one of a kind, you’re one in a lifetime. Love you, Truth. Keep shining. ❤️”
