Jeff Cobb’s impactful WWE debut at the Backlash premium live event was reportedly finalized months prior to his appearance. New information suggests the heavyweight competitor signed his WWE contract well in advance.
Fightful Select reports that Cobb has been officially signed with WWE for several months. The same report notes he also appeared on the company’s internal roster listings for “quite some time” before surfacing on screen.
This updated timeline corresponds with previous industry indicators from earlier this year. Fightful had hinted in March 2025 that Cobb might be on the internal roster, while Dave Meltzer later confirmed contract negotiations had taken place.
