Disco Inferno, a former WCW performer, has voiced a critique of WWE’s (World Wrestling Entertainment) current handling of World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso, suggesting on the K100 podcast that a reduction in Uso’s television match frequency on WWE RAW is necessary to preserve the specialness of his appearances.
Speaking with Konnan on the K100 podcast, Disco Inferno, who was part of WCW from 1995 to 2001, elaborated on his perspective regarding Jey Uso’s portrayal as a champion. He contended that unlike former champions such as Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes who were presented as special attractions, Jey Uso is being overexposed.
Disco Inferno stated, “Roman [Reigns], Cody [Rhodes], bro, these guys, when they had the belts, they were treated like an attraction. Bro, what they’re doing with Jey Uso is because he can work, because he’s healthy and stuff, he’s wrestling way too much on TV as a champion. His matches are not like an event. He’s wrestling too much on regular television. I hate it when they do that with the guy when they get a champion.”
