Joe Hendry Feared Viral Tweets Cost WWE Opportunities

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry recently shared insights into his social media use, admitting on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” that some viral posts made him fear he had jeopardized potential WWE opportunities.

Hendry recounted tweeting a meme when Jey Uso sought a tag partner, which gained unexpected traction. He said, “…people think it’s a spoiler, and I’m just kind of messing around,” later thinking, “…well, actually, I just ruined this for myself.”

Another instance involved a fan claiming Hendry was “falling off.” Hendry responded, “Let’s see how well this tweet ages in about four months,” before knowing about a Royal Rumble appearance. He later worried, “I may have cost myself an opportunity” with that tweet.

Hendry noted the evolving nature of social media, stating previously it was like “you can just throw mud at the wall,” but “now there are actually very real consequences.” He even recalled deleting a tweet regarding Kevin Owens’ injury status after realizing it was inappropriate without full context, recognizing that tweeting with emotion, not logic, causes problems.
