TNA World Champion Joe Hendry shared a training session with WWE’s CM Punk and former AEW producer Ace Steel ahead of his high-profile title defense at WWE Battleground. The trio worked out at Steel’s The Foundation wrestling school, with Hendry posting a photo captioned:

Steel, now a TNA producer, has an established connection with Punk, having trained together for years. Independent wrestler LJ Cleary—fiancé of WWE’s Lyra Valkyria—also joined the session, calling it an “honor” to train alongside Punk in an Instagram post praising Steel’s facility.
Hendry’s Battleground match against Trick Williams marks the first time the TNA World Title will be defended on a WWE premium live event. The Scottish star previously crossed paths with Punk at the 2025 Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 41, though the two have yet to clash in singles competition.
