Security removed a fan from the May 9 WWE SmackDown after a beer bottle was thrown at Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena.

Security personnel ejected an individual from the May 9 WWE SmackDown broadcast after that person threw a beer bottle at Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena. This incident took place during the live go-home show for the Backlash 2025 event.

John Cena was briefly caught off guard by the thrown object but quickly regained his composure, later referencing the disruption in an in-ring promo. Footage depicting the fan involved in the act subsequently appeared on social media platforms.

The crowd reacted with loud boos as security promptly removed the individual from the arena. This decisive action demonstrated WWE’s no-tolerance policy regarding audience members who physically interfere with talent and emphasized the company’s commitment to performer safety during live productions.

John Cena currently portrays a heel character.

As of now, it is not known if any legal charges have been filed against the person who was ejected.
