Former WWE star Kayden Carter has publicly addressed her release from the company, expressing gratitude while looking toward her wrestling future. The former Women’s Tag Team Champion was among 17 talents cut in WWE’s latest roster reductions, alongside her tag partner Katana Chance.
In a heartfelt X statement, Carter reflected on her journey:
From watching on the other side of the barricade at NXT to being in the ring getting to live my dream… I am beyond thankful.
The 2023 Women’s Tag Team Champion confirmed her free agency begins August 1, 2025, writing the date prominently under her farewell message. Carter last competed on April 4 SmackDown during a #1 contender’s gauntlet match for the tag titles she once held.

Carter and Chance’s release ends their three-year partnership that saw them rise from NXT standouts to main roster tag champions in 2023. Their departure leaves WWE’s women’s tag division without one of its most established teams.
