The tension between LA Knight and Paul Heyman’s new faction escalated into a physical confrontation during this past Friday’s edition of SmackDown. The segment, which opened the show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, saw Heyman deliver a direct threat to the popular superstar.
Initially, Heyman appeared to mock Knight, adopting his signature “Yeah!” catchphrase before the mood darkened. Acting as an envoy for Seth Rollins, Heyman advised Knight to leave the building to avoid harm, calling the message a “spoiler” rather than a mere warning.
When Knight refused to back down, Bron Breakker and “Big” Bronson Reed emerged and ambushed him. The attack is the latest development in a feud that has seen the SmackDown-based Knight appear on WWE RAW. His interference in the King of the Ring tournament, where he cost both Breakker and Reed their qualifying matches, served as the catalyst for the assault.
Despite the two-on-one disadvantage that spilled outside to the timekeeper’s area, Knight successfully retaliated. After being thrown over the barricade, he procured a steel chair and used it to fend off both assailants. The segment concluded with Knight standing tall in the ring as Heyman and his associates retreated.
According to backstage reports, Knight is expected to remain a member of the SmackDown roster. However, he will continue to feature on WWE RAW to advance the cross-brand storyline, as the company is currently flexible with brand exclusivity.
