Liv Morgan has officially begun her transition from WWE rings to Hollywood sets, with production starting next week in Japan for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo. The Women’s Tag Team Champion will play a missing politician’s daughter in the Neon-distributed thriller opposite Lily James and Shun Oguri, working under acclaimed director Takeshi Miike (Audition, 13 Assassins).
PWInsider reports Morgan will be absent from WWE programming for several weeks to accommodate filming. Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez noted the April 29 RAW segment where Nick Aldis granted her leave was specifically timed for this departure:
She’s heading over this week, and she’s gonna be one of the stars in the film.
While Morgan and partner Raquel Rodriguez currently hold the Women’s Tag Team Championships, WWE has yet to address potential title implications. Her on-screen exit contrasts with Dominik Mysterio’s denied time-off request, establishing storyline justification for the champion’s temporary absence as she pursues this career-defining opportunity.
