Major AEW Star Pulled From More Events

A legitimate knee injury has forced Komander to be removed from a championship match at the upcoming AEW Grand Slam event in Mexico.

A knee injury has resulted in Komander being pulled from a scheduled championship match at AEW’s forthcoming Grand Slam event in Mexico.

The injury was sustained during an event in Mexico on a recent Sunday when the high-flyer slipped on the ropes. The incident occurred shortly after a series of appearances in the country for CMLL, including a tag team match alongside Mistico on May 31.

To account for the legitimate injury on television, AEW produced a segment that aired prior to its Summer Blockbuster event. The angle featured The Hurt Syndicate attacking Komander, creating a storyline explanation for his absence from the programming.

The setback follows a period of activity for Komander, who was signed by the company in April 2023. His recent in-ring work included a trios match victory at AEW Fyter Fest, where he teamed with Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey to defeat members of LFI.
