AEW star Swerve Strickland is currently focused on a significant upcoming engagement at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, where he is slated to participate in a contest billed as “Anarchy in the Arena.” This no-disqualification match is expected to involve a combination of well-known wrestlers and potentially some unexpected participants. Amidst his preparations for this event, Strickland took to the social media platform X to recognize a fellow AEW talent’s recent accomplishment. He posted, “TOP OF THE WORLD!!! @DarbyAllin,” acknowledging Darby Allin’s successful ascent of Mount Everest.
Allin, who has been absent from AEW programming for the entirety of 2025 to focus on his mountaineering endeavor, reached the summit of the world’s highest peak on May 18, 2025, at approximately 8:50 a.m. local time, reportedly becoming the first professional wrestler to achieve this feat. His expedition was undertaken with the Adventure Consultants team, which included experienced Sherpas Ang Dorjee, Pasang Bhote, Tashi Thundu, and Pemba Sherpa. During his journey, Allin shared a video of himself performing a kickflip at an altitude of 20,958 feet.
Following the summit, reports indicated his team was making a swift descent to Camp 4, with Allin planning to share the complete account of his climb upon reaching base camp.
The AEW Double or Nothing event is scheduled for May 25, 2025, raising questions about whether Allin might make an appearance following his historic climb, while Strickland’s participation in the “Anarchy in the Arena” match is also a point of focus.
