Major Tag Team Sign WWE Legends Contracts After Years of Legal Disputes

PWInsider reports Ax and Smash of Demolition have signed WWE Legends contracts following decades of legal issues with the company.

PWInsider reports WWE has signed Ax and Smash of Demolition to Legends contracts. The three-time former WWF Tag Team Champions have resolved their longstanding issues with the company following recent management changes.

The relationship between Demolition and WWE deteriorated during Vince McMahon’s leadership due to legal disputes over the team’s name rights. Additionally, their involvement in a CTE lawsuit against WWE further strained the relationship, leading to their removal from company historical references.

Demolition’s record of 478 days as tag team champions stood as the longest reign until The New Day surpassed it with 483 days. Subsequently, Gallus achieved 497 days as champions, while The Usos established the current record at 622 days.

Under the current leadership of Nick Khan and Triple H, the company has reconciled with Demolition. This development has sparked discussions about their potential induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, a recognition many fans have long advocated for.
