Darby Allin, a two-time former AEW TNT Champion, has been absent from AEW television since late 2024, a break understood to be for his long-anticipated attempt to climb Mount Everest. His last in-ring appearance for the promotion was against Ricochet during an AEW Dynamite episode that featured the Continental Classic tournament.
Allin’s on-screen departure occurred in December 2024, when he was written out of storylines following an attack by the group known as the “Death Riders.” This allowed him to begin preparations for his Everest expedition, a personal goal he had publicly aimed for, after having recovered from a foot injury sustained in March 2024 during a match with Jay White.
Earlier in 2025, reports began to surface regarding Allin’s potential return schedule. A Fightful report in January indicated that Allin had stepped away from active AEW duties with an expected return timeframe around the spring of 2025.
